"This Old Hat"
There's a town not far from here,
called Englewood by name.
It's not a town of great fortune,
Nor is it known for fame.

In the town of Englewood
there's a house on Old Route 2
this house has been lived in by many,
me, you and some, to name a few.
In this house there was a nail
placed by the kitchen door,
and this is where Papaw hung his hat,
when he sat down to eat, sometime after four.

You see... papaw's hat is a special hat,
not common in anyway.
He wore it like no other man,
and he wore it every day.
To me, this hat is a symbol
of a man who stood 10 feet tall.
A man of great strength and honor,
and known to all as "Papaw".

Today you rest in peace, Papaw,
no one deserves it more than you.
We'll cherish your memories, always,
till we come and join you too.
WE LOVED YOU, PAPAW!
